John (857) died on 5 Nov 1858 at Cross Roads, Shenandoah Co., VA, at age 94. His body was interred on 7 Nov 1858 at Shenandoah Co., VA. John (857)'s will was probated at Shenandoah Co., VA, in 1859.
John was probably the son of Ludwig Ryman/Reiman, 1730-1894, a miller of Providence Township, Philadelphia County, Pa. He married near Philadelphia and soon moved to Virginia settling in Rockingham County shortly after the Revolutionary War. John died at the age of 94 at Cross Roads, later named Cabin Hill, Shenandoah County, Va. John's estate was probated 1859 in the Shenandoah County Court, Shenandoah County, Va. He was a farmer. He was # Church. He was farmer. Samuel and Catharine Ryman moved to Clark County, Oh. in the spring of 1832 by traveling overland with a two-horse team and wagon. The trip took about nineteen days. They were accompanied by Cathtarine's parents, Abraham and Barbara Neff, who traveled in a covered wagon pulled by four horses. Samuel and Catharine settled near Tremont in German Township and later bought a farm west of North Hampton in Pike Township.

George Harrison Shull was an eminent American plant geneticist. He was born in Clark Co., Ohio, graduated from Antioch College in 1901 and from the University of Chicago (Ph.D.) in 1904, served as botanical expert to the Bureau of Plant Industry in 1903-04, and thenceforth was a botanical investigator of the Carnegie Institution at the Station for Experimental Evolution, Cold Spring Harbor, N. Y., giving special attention to the results of Luther Burbank's work. Shull played an important role in the development of hybrid maize (in the USA, popularly 'corn') which had great impact upon global agriculture. As a geneticist, Shull worked with maize plants. He was interested in pure breeds not for their economic value but for his experiments in genetics. He produced maize breeds that bred true and then crossed these strains. The hybrid offspring of the sickly pure breeds were vigorous and predictable. In short, an ideal economic maize resulted from a project motivated purely to advance science. For his work on maize, Shull was awarded the Public Welfare Medal from the National Academy of Sciences in 1948. He also described heterosis in maize in 1908 and made a number of other key discoveries in the emerging field of genetics. Shull was the founder of the scientific journal Genetics. He was called George in distinction from his son Harrison Shull (1923–2003), also a distinguished scientist, specializing in the quantum mechanics of small-molecule electronic spectra.

Eva grew up determined not to stay on the family farm and moved to Philadelphia in 1933 on fifteen dollars sent to her by Cecil Dillahunt. Eva was a live in baby sitter for the Dillahunts who lived on 52nd. St., which was at that time a fashionable section of Philadelphia. Eva worked for the Dillahunts only a short time and later worked as a maid for a Jewish family named Treblow. Mr. Treblow was an attorney and the family resided in the Overbrook section of the city. The Treblow's child nurse was Grace Clayton who dated Jim Lewis. Grace introduced Eva to Jim and his brother, Bill, who Eva married in 1935. Grace and Jim married in 1936. In 1938 or 1939 Bill and Eva paid $3000.00 cash for a half duplex in Ambler, Pa. Jim and Grace bought the other half. Bill worked for Keasby & Madison Co. in Ambler for 47 years until the company changed hands in 1962 and he was laid off. Eva worked in the school kitchen for 15 years prior to her retirement. In 1962, Bill and Eva sold the half duplex and bought a home on Graystone Rd. in Ambler.
